How to Communicate with Coaches, Boosters, and Fencers
Here’s how you can communicate with coaches, parents, and other fencers during the season. To help keep everyone informed, we have set up several communication tools.

Weekly blasts and other parent communications are sent from fencingmontclair@gmail.com Please add this email address to your contact list. Send a request if you do not already receive updates from this address. Booster President can be reached via fencingmontclair@gmail.com with any questions, concerns, etc. Don’t hesitate to reach out!
TEAM SNAP
Getting Started with TeamSnap
TeamSnap is the primary tool MHS Fencing uses to keep players and families connected throughout the season. It will be used for schedules, team announcements, event information, availability, and other important updates.
1. Accept Your TeamSnap Invitation
Once you have been added to the team roster, look for an email invitation from TeamSnap. Click Accept Your Invitation and either create a free TeamSnap account or sign in with an existing account. If you already use TeamSnap with the same email address, the team may automatically be added to your account.
2. Download the TeamSnap App
Download the TeamSnap app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store and sign in using the same account connected to your invitation. Using the app is the easiest way to stay current with team information.
3. Add Parents/Guardians
After the player's profile has been activated, additional parents or guardians can be added as family members so they can receive team communications and access schedules and other team information. From the Roster, select the player's name and choose Add Family Member, then enter the family member's contact information and send an invitation.
4. Check the Team Schedule
Use the Schedule section to view practices, meets, tournaments, team events, and other important dates. Families can also subscribe to the TeamSnap calendar so events appear on their personal calendar.
5. Update Player Availability
When availability is requested for a meet, tournament, practice, or event, please update your student's status in TeamSnap as soon as possible. This helps coaches and team organizers plan appropriately.
6. Stay Connected
Check TeamSnap regularly for team announcements, schedule changes, reminders, and other important information. Make sure your notification settings are turned on so you don't miss updates.
Students and parents are encouraged to have their own TeamSnap access so everyone receives important information directly and stays connected throughout the season.
This is the FENCERS' page, where they communicate with each other and ask questions such as what time the bus leaves, whether there is practice tonight, or share a pasta party invite. This is a closed group— so if your fencer is not on this, he or she must ask a captain to put them on. This will be communicated to all fencers at the start of the season. It is important for team members to monitor this page for important information.

Visit this site to purchase team clothing and pay booster dues in the shop, get info about the team, helpful tips, contact information for booster leaders and more. This site is not used for time-sensitive alerts, but it does contain up-to-date practice and meet information.
"Montclair Fencing Booster Club" Parent Facebook group (not for primary use)
This is a secondary social media forum for Parents, Guardians, Alums, and other friends and family of the team. Handy for sharing resources, information and congrats, it is not for time-sensitive comms and is not one of the team’s or Booster Club’s primary ways to communicate information during the season. You must request to be added to this group.
Meet Schedule - Subject to Change!
The website has the preliminary meet schedule. You can download the “rSchool – Activity Scheduler” app to view the meet schedule and bus times. The district can change the meet and bus times as late as the day of - the live app will be the best source of timely info and any changes to the schedule going forward. Fencers receive time-sensitive updates via Team Snap and also sometimes through the Team Facebook page. Parents and guardians get the team’s weekly blast with the current schedule plus alerts via Team Snap when there are changes.
Students are responsible for knowing the team schedule and communicating with their parents/guardians. Announcements are made at practice and through Team Snap. Teammates are encouraged to communicate with each other via Team Snap. Team rule of thumb: If confused, reach out to a captain or squad mate first.
